On a recent visit to Point Ybel Brewing Company in Sanibel, Florida, I had the pleasure of experiencing a wide array of craft beers and delicious food. Point Ybel Brewing Company is a family–owned and operated brewery located on the Gulf Coast, and their mission is to craft the highest quality beers from the freshest ingredients.
The brewery is owned and operated by husband and wife duo, Matt and Meagan McKibben, who are dedicated to creating unique beers that reflect their love of the outdoors. The brewery itself is a relaxed and laid back atmosphere with a friendly staff eager to share their knowledge of craft brewing. The brewing facility is located in a repurposed warehouse, and it houses a 15–barrel brewhouse, a tasting room, and a beer garden.
The beer selection at Point Ybel is impressive, with everything from light lagers to robust stouts. A few of the standout beers on my visit included the HopChop IPA, a juicy and hoppy IPA with notes of grapefruit and pine, and the Quixotic Kolsch, a crisp and clean Kolsch–style ale that is perfect for a hot summer day. I also sampled the Smoked Porter, a complex and smoky beer with hints of chocolate and coffee.
In addition to the beer, Point Ybel Brewing Company also offers a selection of unique foods including smoked meats and seafood, tacos, and sandwiches. The food menu changes seasonally and is always made with fresh, local ingredients.
Overall, my visit to Point Ybel Brewing Company was a wonderful experience. I sampled some delicious beers and ate some great food, and the atmosphere was relaxed and inviting. If you’re ever in the area, I highly recommend checking out Point Ybel Brewing Company.
